I have over 30 years of experience in the fast moving consumer goods industry and have experienced virtually everything that can be encountered in the business world throughout my career, with all its ups and downs.

Various leadership positions in Austria, Germany, and Eastern Europe at Mars Inc. have significantly contributed to my personal and professional growth. Before I embarked on a career as a coach, I held the position of General Manager at Mars Austria OG, overseeing production facilities in Bruck an der Leitha and Breitenbrunn.

Throughout my career, I have engaged with diverse geographical environments and various markets.

Individual Coaching

At the beginning of each collaboration, there is a clear analysis and formulation of the goals of the individual coaching. My objective is to guide you through the coaching process, enabling you to gain new experiences and unlock your potential.

It’s crucial that you express a clear willingness to change from your side. Coachees who are “sent” into a coaching wondering, “What am I doing here?” can only be supported once they themselves want to make a change – this can also be worked on, for example, through an analysis comparing your self perception with feedback from others. I can think of many topics that I have supported coachees with during my career as a Managing Director and Coach:

  • Developing new management competencies and skills
  • Gaining clarity and aligning focus
  • Being better at setting boundaries, having the courage to say “No” when needed
  • Improving work-life balance
  • Setting priorities and self-organization
  • Preparation for a new role or position
  • Reorientation after role or position changes

The list could go on, and these are just a few examples to illustrate the areas in which I can provide coaching support. If, as we determine in a free initial conversation, you and I are a good match, we will work together to create a plan for how often, where, and how long coaching sessions will take place.

My objective is not to tie coachees to a coach for an extended period. My measure of success lies in guiding you to quick successes and the desired changes you seek.

Team Coaching

In my view, forming a team, especially a leadership team, into a high-performing unit is a complex and demanding process. It involves the relationships between team members, the establishment of team protocols, the selection of the right team players, the technical knowledge within the team, the individual behaviors within the team, and much more.

Similar to individual coaching, the collaboration begins with an analysis of the team and clear goal formulation. In close coordination with the team leader, a plan is developed for achieving the set goals within the team, and then solutions are worked out with the entire team. I have worked with teams as a coach or leader on the following topics:

  • A new or existing team embarks on a new task
  • One or more new team members are integrated into an existing team
  • Smoldering conflicts and animosities among team members
  • Redistribution of workload
  • A team starts fresh after a reorganization
  • How can we become a more effective and efficient team
  • Establishment of team protocols – “Line of One”-decision-making processes, celebrating successes together, handling failures, determining accountability and responsibility
  • Developing team priorities
  • Developing a company vision within the leadership team

Similar to individual coaching, I coordinate the objectives and establish a plan for team coaching. The duration and number of team coaching sessions largely depend on the objectives and the team’s current state of development. However, the key principle remains the same: success, in my view, means providing the team with early successes as quickly as possible.

Mentoring

If you’re seeking someone who can provide guidance at eye level, I have spent decades working in an international corporate environment in various geographical contexts. I was the General Manager of Mars Austria OG with two production facilities in Lower Austria and Burgenland, employing approximately 500 people. Throughout my career, I have experienced a wide range of challenges, and here is a brief selection:
